She is 25" tall and marked 16 X and was born by the Kestner or JDK Doll factory in the mid 1800's and is absolutely stunning. She has fabulous, smooth, pale, creamy bisque with no chips, cracks or hairlines. Her coloring is fantastic and the detail to her full square pouty face and delicate features are stunning. She has huge flat dark brown glass sleep eyes, all his eyelid wax along with painted upper and lower lashes and heavy Kestner brows. The shading and detail to her full lips and closed mouth is marvelous and she has the early roll of fat on her neck in back. She has her original plaster pate and her original human hair wig is wonderful. Her wig is a bit messy and needs to be brushed but I'll leave that to you. She has her original early, chunky straight wrist, wood jointed and composition body that is in excellent condition and still retains the original finish. There is a some normal wear but not a lot and I think a little touch up under her left arms at the joint. Her thick, straight wrist, hands and fingers are perfect. This body is so hard to find and it has fabulous chunky thighs and a wonderful detailed elongated bottom with large ball joints. This also is a mama or voice body that has the original strap around the torso but it no longer works. I know you can fix them or get a voice box that works but I have never taken one of these body's apart. She is wearing what I think is her marvelous original silk dress. It has stunning lace, beads and button trims and is tighter at the drop waist then flair's out beautifully. This is some fraying of the silk mostly on the sleeves an dsome around the bottom of the dress as you can see the heavier lining. Considering this dress is well over 100 years old it's in remarkable condition and the color is fabulous with really no fading and brings our her coloring beautifully. Her antique pantaloons and slip are super and her antique leather boots has tassels at the ankles. There are glass buttons missing on the boots and I have them pinned as with one of the tassels. Her matching original bonnet is outstanding with matching silk around the brim and huge bows on the sides and back. It has a wire rim so you can bend it to frame her face perfectly and there is a bit if tearing around the silk straw on top but it's hard to see. This is an exquisite early pouty Kestner X and would make a fantastic addition to any character collection. This outstanding, early, large, chunky, 25" closed mouth, pouty Kestner X Character Girl with early straight wrist body with elongated bottom and original silk dress and bonnet seems to book for around $6500.00 but my reserve is less so don't let her get away.
