Description Likely the most famous antique original paper doll, this is the actual piece which was illustrated in the American Museum of Folk Art magazine in Spring 2007.  The auction consists of the actual doll, not a reproduction or drawing. museum framed in a double mat, archival, a copy of the original article documenting the piece and two antique, hard to find books on the history of paper doll making.  Paper Dolls and other cut-out toys published by the Newark Museum 1931 28 Pages original first edition AND Paper Dolls Their History and How to Make Them by Edith Ackley  1939 107 pages with Dust Jacket.  The doll itself is hand drawn and embellished, a paper dress made of cobalt blue scrap, likely gift wrapping paper.  The doll has no drawn facial features, possible this was made in a religious environment which prohibited depiction of same.  19th Century and all original.  Frame is 12 x 15.  This paper doll was used on the title page of Folk Art Magazine Spring/Summer 2007 to illustrate the 10 page article "Costumed by Hand: Yesteryear's Best Dressed Paper Dolls" by F.
