Description
Here is a fabulous, early Kestner Character with her original marked JDK body, original human hair wig, wonderful red antique wool dress, marvelous older linen coat, original camisole that buttons to her pantaloons, antique slips, socks, excellent antique leather shoes with pom poms along with a stunning antique red velvet bonnet with bows and flowers. She is beautiful and 28" tall and marked L Made in Germany 15 and was born in the later 1800's by the Kestner or JDK Doll Factory before JDK began marking the heads with mold numbers. Being much earlier the Kestner's with mold numbers she has a much thicker neck and fuller face She has fabulous, pale, smooth creamy bisque with no chips, cracks or hairlines and her coloring is fantastic. She has a longer square face and the sculpting to her full cheeks and upper lip is stunning. She has huge brown glass sleep eyes, all her eye lid wax, along with painted upper and lower lashes. She has 4 porcelain teeth and the shading to her lips is wonderful. She has a double chin and the typical early heavy Kestner brows. She has her original human hair wig that is wonderful and still thick and full. It's a bit messy from being packed and would look marvelous with long curls down the back. Her original wood jointed and composition Kestner body is in excellent condition and still retains the original finish and is marked in red on her butt Germany 6. There is some normal wear and scuffing but no touch ups or repairs and her hands and finger are perfect. She is wearing a fabulous red antique wool in excellent condition. The pattern of the material is super and it has longer fuller sleeves with scalloped lacy edges and a wider collar with matching lace and scallops. Her original camisole buttons to her original pantaloons that are wonderful. They are a bit soiled with age and have a couple tears but all in all they are wonderful. She is wearing a stunning older linen coat that is perfect. It has long sleeves with tight cuffs that have little pleats around the edges that match the pleats around the edges of the wide collar. It has smocking down the front wish snaps and a drop waist belt. The coat I'm sure is a bit wrinkled and could stand to be ironed but I'll leave that to you. Her antique socks are super and her antique leather boots are marvelous with laces and pom poms on the toes. Her deep red 2 toned velvet bonnet is outstanding. It has huge bows on top with antique flowers and a wide padded wire brim with long ties. It goes with her dress beautifully and with he white linen coat she is a sight to behold. She is the perfect large, early Kestner and would make a fabulous addition to any collection. This outstanding, early, large, 28" Kestner or JDK Character Girl books for around $1500.00 but my reserve is less so don't her get away. Lucky winner pays $28.00 S/I and international would be more.
