Beautiful 25" Kestner 171 German Bisque Doll NICE BIN! This auction is for a beautiful 25" Kestner 171 German Bisque Doll wearing a vintage outfit with shoes. She is a lovely doll all original in excellent condition with no major flaws. I purchased her at a doll show from a dealer who was selling her for the family of the original owner. Her lovely bisque face is bright and full of color . She has big beautiful blue sleep eyes, open mouth with 4 teeth, painted lips, eyebrows and eyelashes, red dots in her nostrils. Her left eyebrow has a small mark less than 1/8" and the paint is over the mark so it might be factory other than that I see no rubs, cracks or damage at all to her bisque. I did hold her up to the light and found no cracks or hairlines. The back of her head is marked Made In K Germany 14 171 I took off her cardboard pate so I could pack the head for shipping only to find something I have never seen before. It appears to be a her original? plaster pate marked with what I believe to be a fancy S and k21, hard to tell. I did some research and it appears Kestners came with plaster pates. I have no idea how to remove this pate or if it is the orignal pate as I am suspecting. I am not at all an expert on Bisque dolls even though I do collect them. She is on her orignal composition jointed body that is in excellent conditon and marked in red on her lower back is Germany 5. Her stringing is tight and not loose, she has all her fingers and toes, blush on her kness, some red around her finger/toe nails. I see no crazin or lifting of the composition, there is some rubbing of the paint near the joints but nothing major. The back of the left elbow has a spot on the wood that I can't tell if it is a stain or the wood has turned from not having enough paint in that area because it has the same finish as the rest of her arm. (hope that makes sense!) She will come to you wearing a vintage wig, outfit and shoes. The shoes appear to be pink leather and are in good condition, the bottom of one is scuffed at the top.The the dress appears hand sewn it is a very light pink and has faded some but is in good condition, her slip and onsie are in good condition and the outfit could use a cleaning. Her wig is tagged size 14 and in good condition. It could use a restyling, I can't tell if it is human hair or synthetic, but I am sure it is not mohair. What a beautiful original 25" Kestner 171 to add to your collection being offered with a buy it now, so don't let her slip away. I am thinning out my collection so check out my other listings!
