Description
American Girl Kirsten1987 Very Rare Collector Doll Signed by the one that started All These amazing and wonderful Doll's Pleasant Rowland Kirsten is one of the 5 dolls that has created the history of the American Girls, she is very special and rarely seen on ebay. She is in excellant condition. She comes with her COA (Certificate of Authenticity) dated 1987 with the #520. When American Girls began in 1986, Pleasant Rowland signed and dated the first 3 dolls, Kirsten, Samanta and Molly. Through my reserch, I believe the begining for the Signed dolls started Oct. 1986 which is when American Girl began. I think the first 500 Signed Kirsten dolls was sold by Dec. of 1986, So my Kirsten was one of the first to be sold possibly Jan. of 1987. She is in excellant condition, never played with and mostly stored away in her box. I have only displayed her and changed her clothes occasionally. She has kept her beautiful face coloring through the yrs. she has the flat white neck strings, large uneven Pleasant Company on the back of her neck as seen in the earliest dolls. White muslin body. She can stand on her own, her arms and legs are tight but please note they are not as tight as the newer dolls. She can hold a pose. Although her braids are no longer in their original loops, they have never been taken out of the braids. As you can see in the last picture she had her original rubber bands but due to age they have fallen apart causing her braids to become loosely braided, I have since replaced the worn out rubber bands and tightened her braids to keep them as original as possible. Her eyes are gorgeous, no signs of Silver eye. Over the past few yrs, I have seen mint condition Samantha, Molly and Felicity's with Pleasant Rowland's signature and COA, I have seen fewer Kirsten's and Addy's. In the early 1990's, Felicity and Addy were also signed and dated. These are the only 5 dolls which Pleasant Rowland promoted with COA's and signed dolls. With my ownest research and opinion, this is the only Signed Kirsten that I have seen in such excellant condition sold on Ebay,. She will arrive in her meet outfit complete and her accessaries all in mint condition except her pantaloons which have a very loose elastic now due to age. Her tags to the bonnet and dress are paper tags not like the silk tags as seen now. There are no holes tears or snags in her clothes or socks. She also arrives with her original book, original banded box which was only sold in the earlist yrs, the box is in very good condition. Her COA paper also signed and dated 1987, the tissue paper with American Girl written on it. Perfect Kirsten for the American Girl Collectors I have been a collector for a few yrs. now and have very slowly trying to let go of my collection. All my historical collections are now stored away, I don't have the room for display. Now that my grandaughter is older we only have room for the newer American girl dolls and their rooms for play. I of course never allowed my personel older historical doll collection to be played with and feel It is time for me to let go. Please don't ask for a Buy it now. I plan to let the auction run it's course. Thank you for your consideration.
